Uses of Space: The Future

During our in class presentation of our work so far, my group presented a prepared powerpoint of our short and long term goals for our website. Some of these goals are understandably more realistic than others in terms of their potential for completion before the final submission date on Monday the 11th of May.

Here is a run-down of each of our goals:

For Jake, whose proposal focused on the 3D modelling of the room, the main goal going forward would be to obtain better laser scans of the room. With these, he could use Rhino to model the details, as this person has done in the screenshot that we found on Google Images below.

For Jordan, whose focus was on upholstery and change over time, the main focus would be to play around with customisable plug-ins and the like on WordPress. One idea that she had was to make a sliding / toggling button (see below), with which visitors to the site could change the upholstery on an outline of a single chair by sliding side to side.

For Heather and myself, our next step would be to render the clothing in 3-dimensions using the sketch images of similar items of clothing (see below). We would also use Rhino for this (see the screenshots of our homework, also below)so that we could save the file in a format with which we could embed it onto WordPress using SketchFab (especially as we had the good fortune of being able to meet one of the founders of the Sketchfab company in one of our lab classes!).Screen Shot 2015-05-07 at 23.30.10 Screen Shot 2015-05-07 at 23.30.20Screen Shot 2015-05-07 at 23.29.39 Screen Shot 2015-05-07 at 23.30.30
